Fukui's Yokokan Garden

Located just minutes from Fukui Station by bus (Keifuku 35 bus) or taxi, or a pleasant 15 minute-walk on a nice day, Yokokan Garden is a must-see when you visit Fukui city. Owned for centuries by the powerful Matusdaira clan, this elegant house, pond, and garden was declared a cultural treasure in 1982. The tatami style rooms are enjoyable to sit upon, looking out onto the beautiful colors of the trees and flowers reflected in the pond.
