Spider lily, commonly known as 'Higan-bana' in Japan, is a flower which blooms around autumn equinox day in late September. When you see these flowers blooming in a field, you'll know that autumn has arrived. Since I saw some beautiful pictures of this flower on other articles of Japan Travel, I wanted to see them with my own eyes, too. Then I found just one spider lily blooming alone on a sidewalk in Fukui City. It was bathed in twilight sunshine and inexplicably beautiful. The autumn-colored sky and a lone beauty on a sidewalk made my day!
