The Sapporo Flower Carpet is an annual event which started in 2014 to commemorate the opening of Sapporo Kita 3-jo Plaza. Local volunteers work together to create incredible displays using flower petals and other natural materials, and the theme for the nature-based artworks changes every year.
For 2023, the theme for the main display is "Towards the future," and the flower carpet is set to depict Hokkaido-based bird and animal life.
