The Illumine Yokohama event runs throughout the month of December at Yamashita Park, and there are several different displays for visitors to appreciate. From the rows of illuminated trees along Yamashita Koen Street to the Dynamic Aurora display that incorporates numerous floodlights, it's bound to be filled with luminous fun.
If you do plan on visiting, the illuminations run from 5 pm until 9.05 pm during the December 1st to December 30th period. On New Year's Eve (December 31st), the hours will extend to 5 pm until 1 am, allowing for a bright start to 2024.
Admission to the event is free of charge.
Getting there
Yamashita Park is located just five minutes on foot from Motomachi-Chukagai Station, which is served by the Minato Mirai line. The park is also easily walkable from some of Yokohama's top attractions, including Chinatown (5 minutes on foot) and the Red Brick Warehouse area (8 minutes on foot).
