Yumegasaki Cape

Explore the lighthouse shores

Near the Tsunoshima Lighthouse you’ll find a flat, rocky cape easing into the sea, calling for exploration. Survey the scent, sound, and touch of the sea breeze, and take time to observe the details in this border space between two great worlds. Walk north along the shoreline from Yumesakinami Park, next to the lighthouse, and you’ll pass a small torii looking out to sea. Half-hidden in the rock and shrub, there are some low old sheds that clearly belong here. Further up, the north coast of Tsunoshima island comes into view. The shallow shoreline is ripe with life and the little “church” at the campground and some rocky cliffs stand across the water. Little birds frequent the high grasses between this area and the lighthouse.
