Japan Harvest 2019 event on Marunouchi Nakadori Street will celebrate a variety of experiences, trials, and contests covering agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and food. It’s a festival to celebrate the unique charms of Japan’s domestic produce. The festival provides a special chance to communicate with local farmers and producers in a way that would otherwise be difficult. The 2-day event runs November 2nd and 3rd and is free to attend. Foodies won’t want to miss out on this festival.

Fermented food paradise

One of the event workshops at Japan Harvest 2019 will be “Fermentation Life Starts Today!” Here, visitors have a chance to experience (and taste) fermented foods and the process like never before. The event will be held at 3 × 3 Lab Future as a one-day series of activities centered around the theme of Japanese history and traditional fermentation culture.

The “Fermentation Life Starts Today!” exhibition will take place on November 3, 2019. Take the opportunity to see a selection of local specialties and experience the charm of Japan’s fermentation with your five senses. Drink your way through the sake fermentation process, look forward to making amazake (sweet sake), or roll up vegetarian sushi in the kitchen corner.

  • Sake tasting experience (2,500 yen) limited to 100 people.
  • Amazake making experience (2,000 yen) limited to 20 people.
  • Vegetable sushi-making experience (2,000 yen) limited to 20 people.
